Article 2(1), third subparagraph, of REMIT provides indications
as to what
is meant by the term "information of precise nature" as follows:
Information
shall be deemed to be of a precise nature
if it indicates a set of
circumstances which exists or may reasonably be expected to come into
existence,
or an event which has occurred or may reasonably be expected to do
so,
and if it is specific enough to enable a conclusion to be drawn
as to
the possible effect of that set of circumstances or event on the prices of
wholesale energy products.
The precise nature of the information is to be assessed by the holder of the
information
on a case-by-case basis and depends on what the information is
and on the surrounding context.

REMITの第2条の(1)では、「内部情報」を次のように定義しています。
①まだ公表されておらず、②1つのもしくは複数の卸売エネルギー商品と直接もしくは間接に関係があり、
③仮に公表されたならばそれら卸売エネルギー商品の価格に重要な影響を与えることになるであろう
正確な種類（precise
nature）の情報。
REMITの第2条の(1)すなわち第3段落では、「正確な種類の情報」という用語が意味する内容に関する兆候を、
以下ように規定しています。
情報は次の場合に正確な種類のものであると見なさなければならない。
①その情報が、現に存在するかもしくはこれから存在するようになると合理的に予測される一連の状況を示している場合。
②その情報が、現に起こっているかもしくはこれから起こると合理的に予測される事象を示している場合。
③その情報が、一連の状況や事象が卸売エネルギー商品の価格にこれから影響を与えるかもしれない
という結論を引き出すことができるほどに明確である場合。
情報の正確性については、ケースバイケースで情報の保有者が評価しなければならず、
また、それはどのような情報であるのかや取り巻く状況次第となる。
